Managing Define-XML Metadata to auto-generate Define.xml

Candid will check your metadata for common issues and auto-generate a complete Define-XML package including your SAS transport files, Reviewers Guide, Blank CRFs.

We offer 3 ways to define your metadata inside Candid

  1. Importing data in an Excel spreadsheet template we provide
  2. Copying an existing Analysis you have already setup
  3. Copying from dataset metadata templates you control

Auto-generate Define

  1. Navigate to an existing analysis.
  2. Expand the Services menu, the Define Generator page will open.
  3. Use the form to add/edit define header details.
  4. Map the *.xpt path for the Candid define zip file builder.
  5. Optionally Associated blank CRF, Computation Algorithm, and Reviewers Guide pdf files.
  6. Click the Prevew or Raw buttons to view the resulting define.xml in styled or un-styled form.

Make define metadata changes quickly and easily using Candid

  1. Navigate to an existing analysis.
  2. Click the Datasets link in the upper right corner of the Analysis Details page, the Dataset Index page will open.
  3. Click the Edit button for the dataset you want to modify, the Variable Details will open in-line on the variable index page.
  4. Make your changes.
  5. Click Submit.
